FEE SCHEDULE

American Medical Experts offers expert witness reports at the lowest flat rates in the industry. If you find a lower rate for the same service, we’ll try to match or beat that rate! When we opened our doors years ago, our primary goal was to give attorneys the best complete case reviews and expert witness reports, at the lowest possible rates. Instead of charging you and your clients an hourly rate ( $400+ per expert/per hour), our rates start at $695 for a complete case review and $995 for an expert witness report.

In addition to reducing your upfront fees with our flat-rate fee schedule, the experienced team at AME will help screen your cases so that you only invest time and resources in cases with supportive expert witnesses on board.

***Please note, AME’s fee schedule is subject to change at any time.  If you are offered a reduced rate on an invoice or work product and that fee is not paid by the reduced rate / date, that fee is subject to change to the most recent fee schedule online.  Please contact our office for detail and updated invoice.

STARTING AT $1295 $995*  (This step gets you your answers in a report from the expert witness)

  • A Medical Expert / Specialist, i.e. Cardiologist Expert Witness, Orthopedic Surgeon Expert Witness, ENT Expert Witness, OBGYN Expert Witness, Oncologist Expert Witness, Plastic Surgeon Expert Witness, Radiologist Expert Witness, Pulmonary Expert Witness, etc.
  • Up to 100 pages reviewed of medical records as a confidential work product report – (step 1 of our 2 step process); each additional page is $1.75. (report, verbal or written and unsigned initially/without disclosing the name – step 1 of our 2 step process)***
  • The review of deposition transcripts, interrogatories, research material (items other than medical records) and x-rays are billed at $3 – $6 per page and the cost of CT Scans, MRIs, images, etc. that are on CDs will be determined by our Director based on the volume of material required for review – typically Imaging CDs are billed at $100-$700 per CD depending on the type of imaging; our goal is to contain your costs for reviews and our office will let you know the reduced rate to review these items.
  • IMEs, Accident reconstruction cases/biomedical engineering, life care planning/Economist reports, Neurosurgeons, Cardiovascular, Vascular  Surgeons, Orthopedic Spinal Surgeons, Vaccination Cases, Forensic Pathologists, Neurologists, Plastic Surgeons, Endocrinologists, and possible other specialists/experts have a separate fee schedule arrangement due to the extensive nature and time involved in these cases; please call our office for details. *If a specific request such as the location, school affiliation, etc., of an expert, our reduced fee schedule may not apply.  In addition, please note that if an expert is unable to formulate an accurate opinion based on the records / material provided and requires to conduct additional research to obtain necessary information to render an opinion or answer specific questions by the client, our standard two step process and our reduced rate may not apply and additional fees will be required. This scenario would be subject to a different fee schedule and determined on a case by case basis.
  • If there are missing records that are needed for the expert to complete his or her review and opinion, the per page fee does not apply and the hourly rate of the expert witness would  be required at a 1 hour min (example: $600 per hour).   The amount of time will be determined in our office based on the pages and material to review.

EACH ADDITIONAL EXPERT STARTING AT $795

To obtain the $795 rate for the confidential work product report (step 1 of our 2 step process and based on the same rate for additional pages over 100, imaging, CDs, etc – same fee schedule noted for additional items over the basic cost of up to 100 pages as detailed above), the payment and request must be made at the same time as the $995 rate/ first expert requested. This is a great option if you want multiple opinions at the same time for a greatly reduced rate. Same rates for additional pages as above. *If a specific request such as the location, school affiliation, etc., of an expert, our reduced fee schedule may not apply.

If there are missing records that are needed for the expert to complete his or her review and opinion, the per page fee does not apply and the hourly rate of the expert witness would  be required at a 1 hour min (example: $600 per hour).   The amount of time will be determined in our office based on the pages and material to review.

In the event that you decide not to proceed with a review after payment has been made to our office, records uploaded, and instructed our office not to send the records to the expert (place case on hold), and you are asking for a refund, our office charges a minimum processing fee of $295 per expert witness requested or review, plus any transaction fees that were associated with the transfer of funds.

$695 to $3995  (This is only paid if you have a supportive opinion)

Depending on the specialty of the expert, time spent, the complexity of the case, etc., this fee is paid after you have an unsigned supportive written and/or verbal opinion and you need the signed report, and/or name and CV of the Expert Witness. We try to keep this cost in the lower range, as our goal is to build a long-standing relationship with you and contain your costs for case reviews and Expert Witnesses. ***

ADDITIONAL WORK REQUESTED*

Additional work requested for an expert witness (i.e. Additional Record Review, Addendum Reports, Affidavits, Certificate of Merit, Declarations, Depositions & Trial Testimony) after the expert has completed his or her review and unsigned report (verbal or written) or the signed report are billed at additional rates through our office.  These rates for additional services are billed outside our two-step process and fee schedule noted online.  Depending on the additional work requested, i.e. hourly for additional record review and comment, half day or full day rates for Depositions or trial, etc. are billed and invoiced through our office and paid in advance of the work as an estimate based on the request.  If the estimate does not cover the time or work requested, an invoice will follow to complete the balance due.

*Unless otherwise specified, the cancellation policy for testimony is as follows: If the scheduled testimony is canceled within 4 business weeks, 50% of the fee will be refunded; if the scheduled testimony is canceled within 2 business weeks, no refund will be issued.
